Offshore & rig

Physical barriers offshore are about barrier management: keeping hazardous energy separated from people. The Sperreport gate functions as a controlled entry point to the red zone and other risk areas — documented in practice at a rig stairway marked "To enter, contact DM on CH 1".

Red zone and falling objects

The red zone covers areas with a high risk of falling objects — typically during crane lifts or work at height. Recommended practice requires that access is restricted to essential personnel, that entry takes place through gates, and that there are physical barriers with signage at every entry point. A Sperreport gate enforces exactly this: a fixed, recognisable barrier with a controlled opening.

Permits to work and controlled entry

A permit to work for hot work or lifting often assumes the area is already physically barriered off. Fast, repeatable barriers mean work can start sooner — with no non-conformances at audit over whether the barrier was actually in place where it should have been.

No loose parts

Loosely hung chain and hooks are themselves a falling-object risk. A permanently mounted Sperreport gate with a spring return removes this problem at the source, instead of adding yet another loose component to the zone.

Which variant is right for you?

The sideways or vertical Sperreport gate suits permanent zones with a fixed, controlled entry point. The barrier trolley suits temporary zones during crane lifts, hot work or maintenance shutdowns. The sign holder ensures the requirement for signage at every entry point is met.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Sperreport gate be used to mark off a red zone?

Yes. The gate provides the controlled entry point and physical barrier that recommended practice for red zones requires, combined with a sign holder for marking at entry points.

Are the products suitable for temporary zones during a maintenance shutdown?

The barrier trolley is designed for exactly this — no drilling required, quick to set up and take down, and can be moved as the work moves.
